Scared to call suicide prevention hotline?

A hotline that brought the police down on everyone who called them would be completely useless, as everyone would be too scared to call. A suicide hotline may call the police to your house if they feel that you are seriously and immediately at risk, or if they think you are a treat to others, but they shouldn't do it except in extreme cirstances, for exactly this reason: suicide hotlines can't afford to scare people out of calling them.
