Why are there so many Indie groups clogging the charts?

I live in the UK, and Everytime you listen to the radio, or watch a music show, your bombarded with greeaazzy black haired spotty miserable indie bands, whats happened to music when all we get in 2009 is this rubbish, it ALL sounds the same THEY all look the same, none of them can sing, and teens are being ripped off with this music because they know nothing better, i haven't bought an Album in over 4 years, because there is so much crappp out there. DON'T give me OH SHUT UP, girls aloud ROCK, i might have to wee myself a little bit in anger.
